You navigate the sbot verse with a secret key and a public key. In that way, nobody can portray themselves as you on the network. It also means that you're responsible for holding on to your key.
When you use sbot for the first time a public/private key pair is generated. This cryptographic key pair is yours alone. If you lose it, it's gone forever, you start with a new identity and a new public/private key pair. Any connections you've made are lost and you have to start from zero with creating connections with others on the network. Be aware: there's no 'lost password' button to press because there is no password to lose. Your key, however, is of vital import. Protect and hold on to it for best results.
